Data-Driven Visuals

GOALS

The goal of this project was to turn complex company data into visuals that were easy to understand and engaging to read. I created infographics highlighting visa trends, demographics, and other key insights to help immigration attorneys stay informed about changes in their field. From a marketing perspective, these visuals positioned the company as a credible thought leader in business immigration by building trust and showing that our services are grounded in real data and industry expertise.

MY ROLE

I brainstormed areas where data could add value for our audience, then worked closely with the data team to collect relevant information. After analyzing the data in Excel, I designed visually engaging infographics in InDesign that aligned with our company’s style guide and branding.

Research and Strategy

IDENTIFYING OPPORTUNITIES

I brainstormed data-focused content ideas that would be most useful to immigration attorneys, focusing on areas like visa trends and client demographics that could highlight our company’s expertise. I also drew insights from online immigration forums and interviews with attorneys to pinpoint topics that would be most relevant and valuable to our audience.

COLLABORATING WITH THE DATA TEAM

I worked closely with the data team to collect the most relevant information, making sure the insights we used were accurate and consistent. This involved reviewing data sets, asking follow-up questions to confirm context, and refining how information was categorized so it could be translated into visuals.

Gathering the data we needed from the team. These spreadsheets and documents our team compiled helped turn complex numbers into visuals.

ORGANIZING DATA

I worked with the collected data in Excel, using formulas and functions to organize it, spot patterns, and pull out the key numbers that would work best in the infographics. This made it easier to turn the data into visuals that were clear, accurate, and easy to understand.

DESIGNING VISUALS

Using InDesign, I turned the data into infographics that were clear, visually appealing, and on-brand. I went through multiple iterations to make sure the most important information stood out, the layout stayed balanced without feeling cluttered, and each infographic had clear headings and subheadings to guide the reader.

REFLECTION

This project was a great chance to mix data, design, and marketing all in one. I got to sharpen my skills in Excel and InDesign while figuring out how to turn complex numbers into visuals that are easy to understand and actually useful for immigration attorneys. It also showed me how important it is to keep content accurate, clear, and visually balanced so that the infographics not only look good but also build trust with audiences.
